- Players/Athletes/Referees & On-ice Officials: Proof of double vaccination is NOT REQUIRED for youth 21 years and younger participating in sport events and programming. Therefore, all rostered players participating in all RJMHA divisions are not required to show proof of vaccination for any scheduled ice time and this also includes referees and on-ice officials 21 years and younger.
3. Spectators: Proof of double vaccination is REQUIRED for all spectators 12 and over (12+), including government ID for adults 22+ for all on ice activities that will be checked by City staff before entering the facility. This includes all skills sessions, practices and games.
- All vaccination checks will occur at the entrances of RIC and Minoru. Staffing times have been increased to the full hours of operation, however there may be times (in particular early morning weekdays) where the west doors at Richmond Ice Centre will be closed and the guests asked to enter only from the east main entrance.
- The City asks that everyone please be patient with vaccination checking. Staff will work as quickly as they can to scan the QR code and check ID, however delays will occur. While we will get youth in as quickly as possible, all adults will be in the same line; coaches, officials, parents, 12+ year old siblings, etc. The 30-minute maximum prior to entry remains for all incoming teams, with spectators expected to arrive only at practice or game time and not before.
Richmond Olympic Oval:
- Entrance: Everyone must enter via the parking lot lobby entrance. ROO staff will be posted at the door. Access will be given to the building/dressing room 30 minutes prior to the start of your ice time. Anyone arriving before that time will need to wait in their cars or in the parkade until it is time to enter. No early entry allowed!
- For ice times on Sundays, Teams to muster in the staging areas at the parkade entrance to the lobby 30mins prior; once everyone has gathered players/spectators they will be allowed entry by the Ice Facilitator (please make sure nobody forces the doors open); To manage stragglers/late arrivals please have a team representative at the entry. Spectators access the rink via the stairs upon entering the building. Players use lower entrance to the change rooms.
- Masks: Required for all entering the rink who are 5 years of age or older. Players may remove their mask when they put on their helmet in the dressing room to go to the ice and must put their mask back on as soon as they return to the dressing room. RJMHA coaches must wear their masks on the benches but can remove them for practices when they are on the ice.
- Warm up areas: All teams wishing to do a pre-game warm up are asked to find a safe spot to do this outside at this time.
- Proof of Vaccination: All spectators 12 years of age or older will be required to show their digital proof of vaccination to the ROO staff in the lobby. Those 19 years of age or older will also be required to show government issued picture ID. Note: Team staff and referees are no longer exempt as per the updated PHO order.
- Building Exit – Exit via the back exit doors on the dressing room level to the parkade – refer to signs on the floor when leaving the dressing room. Spectators are to go down the stairs and meet the players and exit via the lower level doors also and not the front entrance.
- It is recommended that all younger divisions (U6 – U11) come fully dressed prior to entering the building.
