JETS HOCKEY - OPT-IN SKATING & HOCKEY SKILLS PROGRAM WINTER 2024
For registered Richmond Jets players only!
Our Jets Winter 2024 Skills Program starting in January is designed for dedicated Jets U9 to U13 players who want to become more than just an average player and to take their game to new heights. The Jets skating and skills development program is designed to improve your hockey skills, compete level and skating and edge work, in a FUN, fast paced and rewarding environment.
Under the direction of the Jets Director of Hockey Linden Saip and our experienced team of RJMHA skills coaches, the 8-week programs for U9 (including U8 aged players) to U13 divisions will include U9 power skating, U9/U11/13 Defence skills academy and U9/U11 "Light The Lamp", shooting and scoring.
Players will be placed in appropriate skill groups based on their division and skill level, in order to maximize the teaching efficiency and learning experience of each individual player.
Cost: $320 per player / program (8 sessions)
Space will be limited, so book early to reserve your spot!!
**Please note that if a specific session is over-subscribed you will be placed on a waitlist and if a session is under-subscribed the association reserves the right to cancel the session at their discretion.

U9 (2015 & 2016 Ages) & U11 “Light the Lamp” Shooting and Scoring - Mondays *FULL - WAITLIST
Come join RJMHA Shooting and Scoring Coach Reegan House in our “Light the Lamp” Camp. This camp will make you a scoring threat in all areas of the ice! Players will acquire the fundamental skills and knowledge of proper shooting mechanics for wrist-shots, slap-shots, quick-release shots (glue shots), backhands, punch-shots/1-timers.
Players will also acquire advanced shooting skills such as: In-Tight Scoring, Tips and Deflections, Fakes, Changing Shooting Angles.
COST - $320 per player: 8 SESSIONS (max 20 players per session)

U9 (2015 & 2016 Ages) & U11 (Recently Added) POWER SKATING - Mondays
Looking to increase your Speed, Power and Edge control? Come join RJMHA skating coach Michelle Popoff in our Power-Skating Development Program that will focus on: Forward Stride/Edge Control, Backward Stride/Edge Control, Forward/Backwards Crossovers, Turns/Agility and Transition Skating. These skills will be put to the test in isolated skating sequences, drills and races/competitions.
This program will be a joint session for U9 and U11 players.
COST - $320 per player: 8 SESSIONS (max 25 players per session)

Come join former WHL defenseman and RJMHA Director of Hockey Linden Saip at our Jets D-Academy! This program is designed to develop the “New-Era Defenseman” with a large focus on Offensive Tactics. This program will cover: Puck Retrievals, Breakouts, Working and Communicating with a D-partner, Offensive Zone Tactics (shooting, fakes, partner plays), Defensive Tactics (angling, positioning, escaping pressure).
COST - $320 per player: 8 SESSIONS (max 20 players per session)

As one of the largest minor hockey associations in British Columbia, the Richmond Jets Minor Hockey Association offers an integrated (boys and girls) minor hockey program from Initiation to Juvenile. Featuring both recreational ("C") and competitive ("A") streams, our programs operate out of the three different facilities in the City of Richmond: Richmond Ice Centre (RIC), Minoru Arenas (Stadium and Silver Rinks), Richmond Oval (North and South rinks).
