RJMHA Paid Positions

The Richmond Jets Minor Hockey Association (RJMHA) is presently seeking candidates for a number of paid positions.    If you are interested in applying for one of these positions, please provide a brief description of your experience and attributes that are relevant to the position for which you are applying and reply by May 24th to governance@richmondjetsmha.com

The RJMHA, one of the largest minor hockey associations in B.C, offers an integrated minor hockey program from Initiation to Juvenile to between 1100 - 1200 players in the City of Richmond, BC. The program operates out of the three different facilities in the City of Richmond: Richmond Ice Centre (RIC), Minoru Arenas (Stadium and Silver Rinks), Richmond Oval (North and South rinks). RJMHA is a member of the Pacific Coast Amateur Hockey Association, which is governed by BC Hockey. RJMHA is expected to ice teams in the top tiers of Rep Hockey Divisions and participate in the President’s League for Recreational Hockey.  RJMHA also delivers First Shift and Intro to Hockey programs for players who are new to hockey.

Ice Allocator

Registrar/Administrator

The General Manager (GM) role:  The GM is expected to work with RJMHA’s Board of Directors, Executive Officers, Committees, paid staff and volunteers to ensure the delivery of a high quality, affordable, integrated hockey program to the children, youth and young adults in the City of Richmond.   This is a year-round, part-time position with non-traditional hours including weekday, weekend and statutory holiday work.

Key Tasks of the GM include:

  • Direct involvement with association operations including involvement in all Richmond Jets tournaments, managing, distributing and collecting Association equipment, including but not limited to jerseys, first aid kits and goalie equipment
  • Assisting our Treasurer to prepare our Gaming Grant Application
  • Support for our Sponsorship Committee
  • Preparing a written report for all Board meetings
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Board of Directors

 The Ice Allocator role:  The Ice Allocator is responsible for the design, management and evaluation of the RJMHA Ice Schedule.  This is a part-time position with non-traditional hours including weekday, weekend and statutory holiday work. 

Key Tasks of the Ice Allocator include

  • Negotiating with the City of Richmond to secure ice for RJMHA pre-season, regular season, playoffs and tournaments.
  • Designing and managing the master ice schedule
  • Resolving/Rescheduling conflict games
  • Communication with Division/Team Managers

The Registrar role:  The Registrar is responsible for the RJMHA registration process throughout the season.   This role will likely be combined with administrative work as directed by the RJMHA Board.  This is a part time position with non-traditional hours including weekday, weekend and statutory holiday work.  

 Key Tasks of the Registrar include:

  • Developing the RJMHA Registration Package
  • Responding to inquiries regarding RJMHA Hockey Program
  • Ensure that all Team Officials have the necessary qualifications and teams are meeting all league, district, branch and national requirements
  • Provide up to date registration data to RJMHA and League Officials as required.
  • Receive and submit Special Event Sanction forms on behalf of all RJMHA teams.
